Public consultation – receipting trust account money

The LSC is currently reviewing Legal Profession Uniform General Rule 36(4). We are seeking your views on whether a law practice should be required to provide a receipt in every instance that money is received into a trust account, either directly from the client or via bank transfer from the client or a third party payer.

Consumers and lawyers are encouraged to read the Consultation Draft Legal Profession Uniform General Amendment (Receipting of Trust Money) Rule 2016 and to write to submissions@legalservicescouncil.org.au before COB 1 June 2016.  More…
