Professor Belinda Bennett is Head of School and Dean, School of Law and Justice, The University of Newcastle, NSW, and is an Adjunct Professor in the School of Law at Queensland University of Technology (QUT). Before joining the University of Newcastle in 2023, Belinda worked at the School of Law at QUT, and prior to that at Sydney Law School, University of Sydney.
A leading scholar in health law and an Australian pioneer in the field, Belinda has been a leader in Australian research and scholarship in health law. Her research spans public health law, assisted reproduction, and law and genetics.
Belinda is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. She is currently Deputy Chair of the Council of Australian Law Deans (CALD).
Belinda believes that it is crucial that we continuously strive to provide students with an education that reflects the cutting edge of the field, and that equips them for their future work.
