Sophie Williams is the Executive Director of the College of Law Victoria.
Sophie holds a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Business and Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from Monash University and was admitted to the profession in 2005. She joined the College in 2017 following experience in private practice, sole practice and legal education. Before her appointment as Executive Director, she held Lecturer and Assistant Director roles and served a two-year term as the College of Law’s lecturer representative on its Academic Board.
Sophie is also a Non-Executive Director and Treasurer of the Australasian Professional Legal Education Community (APLEC). She is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and is currently completing a Master of Laws in Dispute Resolution at Monash University.
Sophie’s experience in legal practice, professional legal education, organisational leadership and governance informs her commitment to developing lawyers and preparing new practitioners for contemporary, ethical and effective legal practice
