19 January 2015

On 16 January 2015, the Legal Services Council provided submissions to the Australian Bar Association and Law Council of Australia about the proposed rules they have developed under the Legal Profession Uniform Law.

Under the Uniform Law, the Law Council of Australia and Australian Bar Association are responsible for developing Uniform Rules relating to legal practice, legal professional conduct and continuing professional development for barristers and solicitors respectively. After considering submissions received and making any amendments to the draft, both bodies will submit final drafts of the rules to the Legal Services Council for consideration.
