The National PLT Consultation Conference is being held on Friday 6 November and Saturday 7 November 2026 in Canberra. The Conference is an important milestone in progressing reforms to PLT. It will bring together stakeholders from the legal profession, law schools, PLT providers, admitting authorities and regulators to discuss and collaborate on options to reform PLT. Attendance at the Conference is by invitation.
A pre-Conference workshop will be held online on Wednesday 28 October 2026 for invitees who are unable to attend the Conference.
To prepare for the Conference, the Legal Services Council’s Admissions Committee and the Law Admissions Consultative Committee established six Working Groups comprising representatives across the sector to develop Discussion Papers on the key reform areas. The Committees are pleased to publish the Conference Discussion Papers (PDF, 2.5 MB) prepared by the Working Groups.
The Committees thank the Chairs and members of the Working Groups for their valuable contributions to the preparation of the Conference and look forward to continuing to work with stakeholders as this project progresses.
