Sitesh Bhojani has been appointed as the Chair of the Legal Services Council for a three-year term. Sitesh is a Commissioner of the Essential Services Commission in Victoria and has practised as a barrister in New South Wales, Victoria and Western Australia. He is highly experienced in competition and consumer law having been a Commissioner of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission and a former member and deputy chair of the Competition and Consumer Committee of the Business Law Section of the Law Council of Australia.
The outgoing Chair is Alan Cameron AO who led the Council to achievements including the transition of Western Australia into the Uniform Law scheme and the completion of the Council’s review of costs disclosure thresholds during his three-year term.
Liz Harris, Noel Hutley SC, Andrew Pascoe, Joshua Thomson SC and Juliana Warner have been reappointed as members of the Council for a second term. Murray Baird will finish his term on 25 April 2024, and has made a valuable contribution both as a member of the Council and its Audit and Risk Committee.
