Madeleine Dupuche is the Law School Work Integrated Learning Director at La Trobe University.
Madeleine graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws with Honours. She was admitted to the legal profession in 1997. She holds a Graduate Diploma in Education and a Master of Education from Monash University, specialising in Leadership and Policy. Madeleine is also a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors
Madeleine practised as a solicitor in Melbourne and London before teaching across the continuum of legal education for over 20 years. She taught at law school, in practical legal training and in continuing professional development, working with a wide range of law students, graduates and practitioners, employed in the community sector, government, the courts and a range of private practice settings, including at Australia’s leading national and international law firms.
Seeking the creation of a legal profession that more accurately reflects the community it serves, has led to Madeleine’s deep interest in designing learning that responds to the changing employment landscape and evolving education needs of new lawyers.
Madeleine has a thorough understanding of the varied approaches to admission to the legal profession throughout Australasia and beyond, as well as regulatory compliance in the higher education sector. She previously held roles as Director of Education Strategy and Design at Leo Cussen Centre for Law and Director of Practical Legal Training at Leo Cussen Centre for Law where she led the redesign of the Leo Cussen Practical Legal Training program during 2021-2022.
