The Council's Admissions Committee develops the Legal Profession Uniform Admission Rules and provides advice to the Council about admission matters.
The Rules set out the requirements that must be satisfied for admission to the legal profession by the relevant Supreme Court.
The Committee works cooperatively with admitting authorities in the Uniform Law jurisdictions – the Legal Profession Admission Board (NSW), the Victorian Legal Admissions Board and the Legal Practice Board in Western Australia.
The Committee also liaises with other Australian and foreign authorities, Courts and professional associations about admission matters and for the mutual recognition for admission purposes of academic and practical legal training.
